The story of us will always be our favorite, because it brought each of us our best friend and the love of our lives.

It began while Alex was attending Louisiana State University’s Medical School and Krystal was attending Louisiana State University’s Nursing School. Although enrolled in separate programs, both groups of students shared the same campus, classrooms, and study spaces. It was in the campus library where our paths first crossed.

What was supposed to be a simple study session quickly turned into a three-hour-long first date. Krystal shared her anxieties about upcoming final exams, and without hesitation, Alex offered to help. On many occasions, he spent entire nights teaching her the material, encouraging her through moments of doubt, and reminding her just how capable she truly is. After each successful exam, Alex would celebrate by cooking Krystal dinner, a small tradition that meant everything.

During those long study sessions and shared meals, we talked about our mutual love for healthcare, our hopes and dreams for a family, our shared faith in Jesus, our likes, our differences, and everything in between. Those moments laid the foundation for a relationship rooted in love, patience, encouragement, and unwavering support, carrying us through both of our programs and into life beyond them.

In March of 2025, Alex proposed to Krystal in Honduras on the island of Roatán, turning a beautiful place into an unforgettable moment.

Now, here we are, ready to begin the next chapter of our lives, and we could not be more excited and happy.
